Pharmacodynamics
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory/analgesic drug with local analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and decongestant effects.
A key link in the mechanism of the specific action of ibuprofen is the inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis. Causes a decrease or disappearance of pain, including pain at rest and during movement; reduces morning stiffness and joint swelling. Helps increase range of motion.
In addition, ibuprofen reversibly inhibits ADP- and collagen-induced platelet aggregation.
